Black-headed Gull White darvic ring JOY8. I assume this is from a ringing scheme in Norway. I have sent details but no reply yet. Taken 3rd March at Waterside, Galway. |

Your BHG is indeed from Norway - probably ringed in Oslo. I've had 3 from the South side of the Forth estuary in the last few months.
The info will be forthcoming I'm sure.
Also, stunning shots - as good as SLR.
Stuart thank you looking forward to recieving the ring data.
Hello again - for a minute I thought your BHG was the same as the one I saw at the River Almond mouth, Cramond, Edinburgh on 27/7/12 but that one was J0Y2 - ringed Oslo and seen in that vicinity just 12 days before I read the ring!
Regular bird at Musselburgh on the Esk is J1J4 and I have also seen J9J9 there.
We also have returning Med Gulls from Poland and Holland, the latter of which appeared at Loch Ryan near Stranraer.
All the best
Stuart
