My usual visit to Nimmo's Pier is still turning up new Iceland Gulls. This 2nd Winter was not shy coming to bread. The Ring-billed Gulls appear to be hanging out together, the possibility of a male and a female and therefore breeding Ring-bills in Ireland.

Kumlien's almost part 3
A couple of 1st winter Iceland Gulls got my attention at Nimmo's yesterday and was sure one was a Kumlien's. But not this time. There is a dark leading edge to the primaries but not enough to put them in the Kumliens range.

Kumlien's Part 2
Kumlien's Gull was a bit more cooperative this morning and there was just a hint of sunshine which help with the following shots.

Kumlien's Gull
A Few Kumliens's Gulls have been reported at Nimmo's and Waterside for the past week. I only got to see one of them today. A very grubby looking gull and I assume its a 2nd winter bird. Kumlien's are believed to be hybrid gulls between Iceland and Thayers Gulls.

Even more GULLS
Waterside had an interesting Ring-billed Gull or could even be a hybrid. I almost did not take the shot as it had blue legs which would normally be a Common Gull, a RBG should have yellow legs. But this gull says Ring-bill all the way. Got some reasonably flight shots of a 1st winter Iceland Gull at Waterside. A 2nd winter Iceland also dropped in for a few min.

Icelands arrive in Galway
Better late then never, 4 Iceland Gulls put in an appearance at Waterside this morning. Normal showing up well before Christmas these guys a very late arrivals. Compare to 3 years ago when 17 birds were present on the slipway and I have one photo with 8 birds in one frame.
